Theory number 1 by Juditangelo: "Jade, when she was "Shauni" ( The DomZ Priest source of power, as he said in the game) was stolen from him long time ago, maybe in crystalized form of something similar and they hide it from him for a long time. Many years had pass and they thought of an idea: To implant Shauni in a female human and turn it into human, so the essence would be in disguised with the human essence for she can easily hide. And thats how Jade was born. Later her parents gave Jade to Pey"J when they got caught. "

Theory number 2 by AnyaAuditore14: "Jade is human herself but she have Shauni in her womb. About 20 generations ago her ancestor, a priestess of the DomZ religion ( at the time, the Planet of the DomZ and the entire System 4 were at peace) gave a curse to the source of energy: Shauni, because the source sacrificed the priestess sister in whom she had an relationship with the DomZ Priest. The priestess deceived the DomZ Empress ( maybe they had an Empire) by putting Shauni in her womb and female descent had to keep the curse that cause by the priestess until the another female is born. The last female of her descents: Jade, Shauni becomes stronger and the Empress want it back. Shauni probably means in Ancient Hillyan: " Source of Life" and the Hillyan Priest's had to protect Shauni and that's the last assignment of the last hillyan priestess: Yoa"

Theory number 3 by SPGinc: "The Shauni is the DomZ word for soul, karma and/or variation of, and since the DomZ seem to act like a hive mind race rather than like individuals, we could assume that all the DomZ share the same soul as well the same same mind. the enemies of the DomZ (the first members of IRIS perhaps) used some ability not unlike the DomZ's own supernatural powers, to take the Shauni away from the DomZ hoping they'd be destroyed, but they survived by consuming the souls of other creatures by the thousands.It this was true there'd be two question coming from this. One: Doesn't this mean that Jade doesn't have a soul a soul of her own and therefore is 100% DomZ and not human ? Well some that you're not born with a soul, you have to earn it. Because the Shauni was turned into a human form, she's lived as human and has developed her own human soul, the DomZ high priest wanted to destroyed. Question two: If the DomZ only consume souls to survived without the Shauni what did they do before before it was taken from them ? SPGinc answer: Don't know, but since people wanted to steal Shauni from them it can't have been anything good."

Theory number 4 by MajorKiz: "Shauni is an energy being enslaved by the DomZ, who used that power to conquer other worlds and extend their lives. There may be other DomZ fleets elsewhere that still have similar captives. But the resistance managed to steal the DomZ power source without realizing that the green sphere contained a creature and they were very surprised when the energies fled from the sphere and into Jade's pregnant mother. Jade has no actual control over the power at all-but her actions sometimes inspire Shauni to actually act instead of just hiding inside of her."

Theory number 5 by Laura-Kinney: "Shauni had escaped or caught by "humans", Pey'J and Jade's parents and the "life source" got into the mother of Jade. Because she had to attach to a life source because they taken her from the DomZ, so Shauni was attached to Jade's mother and when she got pregnant with Jade, the life source attach to the newborn, for it can life longer. So Jade is Shauni because she was human for a long time that she forgotten that she was once with the DomZ or been a Shauni."
